Community Guidelines
Last updated June 10, 2026
Makomu exists to help creators and members build vibrant, safe communities. These Guidelines describe what we expect from everyone on the platform. They apply across every community, in addition to any specific rules a Creator may set.
1. Our shared values
Makomu is built on respect, authenticity and trust. Whether you run a community or take part in one, you help shape a space where people feel welcome and free to learn and create.
These Guidelines work alongside our Terms of Use. By using Makomu, you agree to follow them.
2. Be respectful
Treat others the way you would want to be treated. Disagreement is fine; personal attacks, harassment, bullying and intimidation are not.
Keep conversations constructive, even when opinions differ.
3. Keep it safe
There is no place on Makomu for hate speech, threats, incitement to violence, or content that targets people based on who they are — including ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation or disability.
Content that promotes self-harm, exploits minors, or endangers others is strictly prohibited and may be reported to the authorities.
4. Stay authentic
Be yourself. Do not impersonate other people or organizations, and do not spread misleading or deceptive information.
Spam, scams, fraudulent schemes and artificial engagement undermine trust and are not allowed.
5. Respect privacy
Do not share other people's private information without their consent, and do not record or republish private conversations.
What is shared inside a community should stay within the trust of that community.
6. Respect intellectual property
Only publish Content you own or have permission to use. Do not post copyrighted material, courses or media that belong to someone else.
If you believe your rights have been infringed, contact us so we can review the report.
7. Responsibilities of Creators
Creators set the tone of their community. We ask them to moderate fairly, communicate their rules clearly, and act on reports from their members.
Creators are responsible for the legality and quality of the Content and offers they publish.
8. Reporting and moderation
If you see content or behavior that breaks these Guidelines, please report it. Our team and community moderators review reports and take action where needed.
We may remove content, issue warnings, or restrict features to keep communities safe.
9. Consequences
Breaking these Guidelines can lead to content removal, temporary suspension, or permanent removal from the platform, depending on the severity and frequency of the violation.
Serious or illegal behavior may be escalated to the relevant authorities.
